Undisputed developer Steel City Interactive may be resetting players’ fight records alongside the game’s Championship Edition, which is set to launch on October 21. The development studio took to social media this week to ask fans whether they would like to see their Undisputed player record wiped clean this month, a request players have been making for some time due to the numerous issues that have been present since the game’s launch.
It has been over a decade since EA released a new Fight Night game, leaving a significant gap in the market for a AAA boxing game. Steel City Interactive saw that gap and decided to fill it with Undisputed, a game that the studio says is “the most authentic boxing game to date.” Unfortunately, that sentiment wasn’t shared by fans of the sport. After remaining in early access for nearly two years, Undisputed launched to mixed reviews in October 2024, with fans criticizing the game’s inconsistent hit detection, numerous technical issues and bugs, and overall gameplay issues.
Undisputed Asks Players if Records Should Be Reset
Steel City has attempted to rectify many of these problems with a steady stream of new updates for Undisputed. Unfortunately, one of its most severe issues had been present for quite some time, resulting in players accumulating losses on their records as opponents exploited a quitting glitch. This, among many other things, has led to fans requesting that all player records be reset. The studio has remained quiet on the matter until earlier today, when the official Undisputed Twitter account released a poll asking players if it should reset records with the launch of the Championship Edition on October 21.
The poll currently has over 1,300 votes on Twitter alone, but Steel City says it will only implement the most requested change when the poll reaches 5,000 votes across all social media platforms, such as Facebook, Discord, etc. It also seems like fans are in agreement that stats should be reset, as over 80% of the votes are in favor of the idea. Assuming that the poll does manage to accumulate the required number of votes, fans can expect the change to take place on October 21 with a new update, another Undisputed DLC, and the release of the controversial Championship Edition.
Undisputed‘s Championship Edition was announced earlier this year and will come with an additional contemporary Terence Crawford (which all players will also receive), and four DLC packs. With three fighter packs already available to purchase, the fourth is being kept a secret until October 21. Unfortunately, Undisputed fans were once again unhappy with the announcement, as some even labeled Steel City’s attempt at getting more money from fans as “embarrassing” due to the issues still present in the base game.
